As the company grew, the high volume of routine non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) created a significant administrative workload that pulled focus from more complex legal work.

The Solution: Automating Procurement NDAs with Bonterms

Careington now leverages Bonterms to establish legal guardrails that allow the business to self-serve while keeping the Legal team in control of the final output.

The Magic of Auto-Accept Alternatives

Stacey identifies one Bonterms feature in particular, Auto-Accept Alternatives, as a key driver of their success with NDA development. Instead of negotiating common points, like Governing Law or Courts over email, Careington uses Auto-Accept Alternatives to present their recipient with a set of pre-approved options acceptable to their organization. If a recipient selects from within those alternatives, the agreement is automatically approved and moves to signature. The vast majority of the time (86%), that’s exactly what happens. The remaining 14% of the time, the negotiations are typically resolved with a single response.

The result: Careington successfully removed the Legal team from NDA reviews without sacrificing quality or oversight.
